My impression is that Sichuan has much more places to discover and it should be known to tourists from both home and abroad. Tourists can experience the natural way of life, customs, gastronomy, and culture that are unique there since it is located at an altitudes close to 3600 meters above sea level.

Hello everyone, my name is David Sustach Garcia. I am from Tarija, a city in southern Bolivia. My native language is Spanish. I have been living in Beijing since September 2017 andI am currently pursuing a master's degree in the major of Global Navigation Satellite System (Space Technology Applications) in the University of Beihang. One of my hobbies is photography, which has led me to work as a volunteer photographer for my university. At the same time, I participate in different photographer competitions here in China. It is a real pleasure for me to tell you about my experiences and impressions during the ten days in Sichuan Province.

First of all, I must say that as a photographer I tried to portray and capture the way of life and the environment of this province. I focus mainly on the local inhabitants, architecture and religion. Taking pictures is not only to record a moment but every detail such as the colors. All the elements that are observed are chosen as a whole, and unfortunately the photographs cannot record the prayers in the temples, the scent of flowers and other important things.

I like visiting Buddhist temples very much. When we visited the temple of Changlie, the monks gave us an explanation in detail about Buddhism. I was fortunate to listen to the prayers pray there and their faithful pray brought us a sense of peace and tranquility.

Traditional clothes worn by local people are characterized by motifs with multi-colored flowers.Gold, blue and red are the main colors andall the clothes are handmade. Their clothes such as shirts are distinguished. They have buttons that are generally in the front and under the right arm, with loose sleeves which allow them to reduce them easily when riding horses, performing manual tasks and doing simple routine activities such as breeding and caring of yak.

There are two types of housing. The first type corresponds to houses located at the foot of the mountains. This type of housing is built with rectangular rocks with one to three floors and windows to the front. The facades have two windows per floor and carry painted a white outline in the manner of a frame and in some cases a crescent moon that has a white dot is decorated at the top. They are lightweight and easy to transport anywhere.

The second type of houses is white and decorated with motifs and geometric lines of blue, red, yellow and black. The houses extend along the Sichuan prairie.

One of the things that impressed me most is the important role played by women and children in Tibetan families in Sichuan province. They participate in all family activities such as feeding livestock, doing farm work and making handicrafts. Children learn songs and betrayalsfrom very young.

Also my attention goes to the environment conservation. Due to its geographical location, accessibility conditions, elevation above sea level have facilitated certain populations, towns or places are not in permanent contact and constant with human beings, so there is still a balance between human activities and their natural environment.

I must also say that many of the towns that I visited made me remember my country. In Bolivia, the capital city is about 3600 meters above sea level, and many cities are close to 4000 meters above sea level.

My impression is that Sichuan has much more places to discover and it should be known to tourists from both home and abroad. Tourists can experience the natural way of life, customs, gastronomy, and culture that are unique there since it is located at an altitudes close to 3600 meters above sea level.

I am so fortunated to havethe opportunity to visit the province of Sichuan. My gratitude goes to the people of Sichuan who welcomed us into their homes, who prepared dances for us, who wore his best clothes and shared with all foreign students, and also goes to the universities of Beihang, Renmin and BLCU, the organizers and all the people who worked on this activity. Thanks for all the efforts, we foriegn students from different parts of the world can experience this unique adventure in such a wonderful place in such a generous country called China .

Sichuan we will see you again soon.
